With an EdTech tenure spanning over two decades, Wedgewood’s passion for technology and commitment to education has helped put the foundations in place for teachers and learners to grow alongside technological solutions. He will be instrumental in driving forward the business’s commitment to developing educational environments and building relationships to benefit global learners. Wedgewood said, “Technology has transformed the way we do things in the modern world, and it can help engage and inspire individuals to learn new things and build upon skills. Over 20 years, I have always brought the things I am passionate about into the workplace, and this attitude and transparency help encourage creativity and innovation. As a result, I have built valuable relationships across the EdTech sphere over the years, and I am looking forward to bringing this expertise to my new role alongside a team and company whose ethos is similar to that of my own.” Holt is a devoted professional with over 10 years’ experience selling AV hardware in the education sector. Starting off his sales career working for a distributor, Holt worked with channel partners selling IT and AV hardware. As his career progressed, Holt began working with an IT/AV integrator (reseller), whereby his primary focus was AV and IT in the education sector. “For the last six years, I have worked for a direct competitor; I started when they were number 4 in the market and helped them grow to number 1 in the UK. My first role at this company was working with the end-user team performing demonstrations to schools, colleges, and MATs. I then progressed to an external channel role within the company, managing their northern reseller base,” explains Holt. “I'm delighted Ian and Ashley are working with us and I’m looking forward to working and collaborating with them; they come at an exciting time and will add great value to our team,” says James Jepson, UK Sales Director. IAN WEDGEWOOD AND ASHLEY HOLT JOIN VIEWSONIC EUROPE BrightSign has appointed a new DACH Sales Manager to strengthen its support to customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Marc Schiedl, the former Head of the Digital Signage and Signal Management Business Units at Exertis Pro AV, stepped into the newly created post in January. He is already known to BrightSign’s many customers in the region and will spearhead the development of relationships with distribution partners, resellers, CMS vendors and large end- customers across the DACH region. “This is a very exciting time to be joining BrightSign,” said Schiedl. “The DACH market is growing bigger and bigger thanks to digitalisation and the trend towards cloud-driven technologies. This has been sped up by the Coronavirus, but we see lots more growth in the coming years. BrightSign is responding by really investing in this territory and in new products and technologies, so it’s the right place to be, at the right time. I’m particularly looking forward to developing collaborations with all the other CMS vendors in the channel, to combine the best hardware with the best software for specific projects.” BRIGHTSIGN APPOINTS NEW DACH SALES MANAGER Nsign.tv has announced the appointment of Albert Baranera as its new Managing Director, reporting to Toni Viñals, the company CEO.
