Blitz GES goes into liquidation

KSM-News-2

Event production specialist Blitz, a GES company, has become a casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic. The company has gone into liquidation, causing dozens of redundancies.

The news comes at a time when hundreds of thousands of jobs connected with the UK live events industry are said to be at risk from the pandemic.

Founded in 1989 and bought by global events company GES in 2014, Blitz worked across the full range of live events from award ceremonies, product launches and conferences to immersive brand experiences, theatre productions and exhibitions. Blitz was also the onsite technical production partner in venues across the UK, including ExCel, the NEC, Olympia London, Manchester Central and The Brewery.

The live events industry has been calling for urgent government support over recent months with campaigns such as the #lightitred and #wemakeevents movements.
