Costa Coffee has unveiled its fully automated, AI-powered coffee kiosks in the UK.
The tech, which is making waves in US airports and college campuses, could now change the British coffee experience.
The new Costa kiosks can operate for up to seven days without human intervention and, the company claims, serve coffee that matches and even surpasses barista quality.
The new sleek kiosks feature user-friendly touchscreen interfaces for ordering and payment and the entire drink preparation process is visible through a clear panel so customers can watch as robotic arms guide their chosen drink through each stage of preparation before it’s presented under a glass dome for collection. The kiosks are also self-cleaning, without the need for frequent manual maintenance.
